When You Are Treated Unfairly at Work
Integrity, injustice, patience, witness, and honoring God under pressure.
"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;"
Colossians 3:23 KJV
Learning Objectives
You'll Recognize
When injustice at work tests whether integrity and obedience to God will be maintained even when no one is watching and when the world's standard of fairness is not met.
This Exposes
The flesh's desire to retaliate through bitterness, laziness, or gossip when wronged; the belief that unfairness justifies a sinful response; and the confusion between silence and endurance.
Born-Again Response
That 'work as unto the Lord' does not change when treatment is unfair; that integrity is not negotiable; and that wise action through proper channels is compatible with trust in God's vindication.
Fruit Being Practiced
Longsuffering, Goodness, Faith
Scripture Anchor
Colossians 3:23 KJV — Work heartily as unto the Lord. Proverbs 16:3 KJV — Commit your works unto the Lord.
"You are treated unfairly at work, school, ministry, or in a responsibility setting. Someone gets credit you deserved. A leader overlooks you. A coworker mistreats you. A system feels unjust. The flesh wants bitterness, laziness, retaliation, or gossip. Scripture calls you to integrity, wisdom, truth, and doing what is right before God."
What Happened
You were overlooked, mistreated, or treated unjustly in a work or responsibility context.
Why This Pressures
Unfairness wounds the heart because something real was taken — credit, recognition, fairness. That wound is legitimate. The question is: what governs your response?

False Religion Says…
Outward form without inward change

- Shame others for addressing or naming genuine injustice
The Word of God Says…
The Spirit speaks through Scripture
- Work as unto the Lord, not as unto men (Colossians 3:23)
- Refuse bitterness and gossip as responses to injustice
- Seek truthful, wise communication when appropriate
- Document and report serious injustice through proper channels
- Keep integrity especially when no one is watching
- Trust God with vindication — He sees what people do not
- Seek wisdom about whether to stay, speak, transition, or act
