New Life Next Steps
Walking After the Altar Call
"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
Philippians 1:6 KJV
Important: This page is a teaching and prayerful response guide. A platform cannot save you. A button cannot save you. Only Jesus Christ saves — through genuine repentance and faith in Him.
What This Page Is
This page is a biblical discipleship guide — practical next steps for someone who has sought Christ, come under conviction, or is beginning to walk in the new life. It does not declare your salvation or confirm a spiritual status.
These are not laws or a salvation checklist. They are the natural, biblical expressions of a life that is genuinely turning toward God. Let the Spirit lead you in the pace and order.
10 Biblical Next Steps
Continue in the Word
Begin reading the Gospel of John. Read slowly. Pray before you read. Ask God to open your eyes to His truth. The Word is your foundation — not feelings, not experiences, not other people's opinions.
"If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
John 8:31-32 KJV
Pray Honestly Every Day
Prayer is not a ritual — it is communion with God. Come daily. Confess sin. Give thanks. Ask for guidance. Be honest about your struggles. God is not surprised by your weakness — He calls you to bring it to Him.
Repent Quickly When Convicted
You will fail. The born-again life is not sinless perfection — it is a direction of heart toward God. When the Spirit convicts, do not hide, rationalize, or delay. Return quickly. God is faithful to forgive and cleanse.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
1 John 1:9 KJV
Find a Bible-Believing Church
The Christian life is not designed to be lived alone. Find a church that preaches the Word without compromise, where you can receive teaching, fellowship, pastoral care, and accountability. The platform cannot replace the church.
"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
Hebrews 10:25 KJV
Be Baptized According to Scripture
Baptism is an important biblical step of obedience and public identification with Jesus Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. It does not save — salvation is by grace through faith — but it is a commanded act of obedience. Speak with your pastor about baptism as a next step.
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Acts 2:38 KJV
Begin Discipleship
Jesus commanded His followers to make disciples — teaching them to observe all that He commanded (Matthew 28:19-20 KJV). Discipleship is ongoing teaching, accountability, and growth in the Word. Seek it in your church and community. Do not remain a spiritual infant — grow.
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you."
Matthew 28:19-20 KJV
Walk in the Spirit
The new birth is the beginning of a Spirit-governed life. Walk in the Spirit — daily surrender, moment-by-moment dependence on God. Do not return to the old patterns. Do not grieve the Spirit. When you fail, repent and return.
"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh."
Galatians 5:16 KJV
Expect Growth, Not Instant Perfection
God who began the good work will complete it. You will not be perfect. You will struggle. You will fail in places. The evidence of new life is not instant perfection — it is a growing direction toward God, growing hatred of sin, growing love for His Word. He who began the work will perform it.
"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
Philippians 1:6 KJV
