Seeking Jesus
A Prayerful Response to the Gospel
"God be merciful to me a sinner."
Luke 18:13 KJV
An Honest Word
This page cannot save you. A button cannot save you. A platform cannot save you.
Jesus Christ saves. He saves through the work of the Holy Spirit, the preaching of the Word, genuine repentance from sin, and faith in His death and resurrection.
This page exists as a teaching and prayerful response guide — to help a convicted heart understand what the Bible says and what a genuine response to the Gospel looks like.
Do not rest in a moment. Do not rest in a decision. Look unto Jesus.
"Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else." — Isaiah 45:22 KJV
If God Is Dealing With Your Heart
If you have arrived on this page under conviction — if the Word has spoken to you, if the Spirit is pressing on your heart — do not treat this as an ordinary moment. The Holy Spirit does not convict carelessly.
This page is a reverent, biblical guide for responding to the Gospel. Read carefully. Do not rush. This is not a process to complete — it is an encounter with the living God to enter.
Coming to God
Come Honestly Before God
"And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner."
Luke 18:13 KJV
This is how Jesus described a man justified before God — not with polished religious language, but with broken honesty. 'God be merciful to me a sinner.' God does not require eloquence. He requires truth. Come as you are, with what you are, and ask for mercy. Psalm 51:17 confirms: 'The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.'
Confess Sin Without Excuse
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
1 John 1:9 KJV
Confession is agreeing with God about what your sin is — not minimizing it, not explaining it away, not comparing it to others. God already knows. The confession is for the heart's sake — to agree with truth, to stop hiding, and to come before Him with openness. And His promise is absolute: He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
Acts 16:31 KJV
The apostolic call is clear. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Not on a church, not on a prayer, not on an experience. On Jesus Christ — who He is, what He did, and why it matters for you. Romans 10:9 says: 'That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.' Heart belief in the risen Christ — this is the object of saving faith.
Surrender to Christ
"And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."
Luke 9:23 KJV
The call of Christ is not 'add Me to your life.' It is 'deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Me.' Surrender is not an emotional feeling — it is the submission of the will to the lordship of Jesus Christ. Not perfectly. Not all at once. But genuinely. The new birth begins with surrender to the One who is Lord.
A Prayer You May Pray
If these words reflect the sincere cry of your heart, you may pray something like this. Words do not save — God hears the heart. Pray from your heart, not from a script.
Lord God, I come before You honestly. I acknowledge that I am a sinner — I have fallen short of Your glory and I have no righteousness of my own. I believe that Jesus Christ, Your Son, died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. I believe He is the only Savior. I believe there is no other way to the Father but through Him. I repent of my sin. I do not want to continue living for myself. I turn from sin toward You. I confess my need for mercy. I ask You to cleanse me by the blood of Jesus Christ, according to Your Word — that if I confess my sins, You are faithful and just to forgive me and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Lord, I surrender my life to You. I want to be born again. I want the new life You give — not a reformed version of my old life, but a new creation in Christ. Lead me. Teach me. Fill me with Your Spirit. Let me walk in obedience to Your Word. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Remember: These words are a guide, not a formula. God sees your heart — He knows whether these words are sincere. The prayer itself does not save. Jesus Christ saves when the heart genuinely repents and trusts in Him. If you prayed this sincerely, continue seeking Him. Keep reading. Keep praying. Find a Bible-believing church.
After You Pray
If you prayed sincerely, do not stop here. A platform cannot confirm what only God can do in your heart. Continue seeking Him through these steps:
- 1Keep seeking Christ — do not stop here.
- 2Read the Gospel of John — begin with John 3.
- 3Pray daily — honestly, not just formally.
- 4Find a Bible-believing church and seek fellowship.
- 5Speak with a mature believer or pastor.
- 6Be baptized according to Scripture as a step of obedience.
- 7Begin discipleship — open your Bible every day.
- 8Do not hide from God when you struggle or fail — come back.
- 9Do not trust a moment, emotion, or button. Trust Jesus Christ.
An Important Warning
Do not trust a moment more than Jesus Christ.
Do not trust a button more than Jesus Christ.
Do not trust a platform more than Jesus Christ.
Do not trust an emotion more than Jesus Christ.
Look unto Jesus. Rest in Him. Follow Him.
"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith." — Hebrews 12:2 KJV
